Product Tutorial

Choosing the right products can be difficult.  We have provided this page so that you may better understand the functions of our products and how they benefit you.
Rain Gutters are mounted to the exterior of your building on the fascia.  They capture and reroute the water falling from your roof.  You'll find rain gutters invaluable when the monsoons come over summer.  Check out this informative website for monsoon statistics:  http://www.wrh.noaa.gov/twc/monsoon/rainfall.php

Our gutter systems are seamless, which means they are measured, cut to length, and installed in one continuous piece.  This ensures there are no weak points that can later crack and cause leaks.  We do not use nails or spikes.  We use hidden hangers with screws.  More often we use a preexisting hole made when the drip edge is attached to the fascia board.  We typically slide the gutter behind the drip edge and drill the gutter and drip edge to the fascia, only making one hole.  As the climate changes, wood expands and contracts.  Using screws helps prevent excess damage to the fascia board.

You may often notice that water causes erosion to wooden decks, concrete and stone walkways, and the outer walls of homes with shorter eves.  Not only can gutters save you from water damage, they also prevent flooding and puddles near the exterior of buildings and in walk ways.  Rain gutters are designed to control where water goes as it is falling from a building.  Rain can be taxing on stone and concrete walk ways so controlling where it falls can often help preserve the integrity of your walk ways.

A variety of drainage systems can be used in addition to the rain gutter to control the water.  You can filter it to an underground drainage system that will channel it to a source away from the building, like a street gutter system.

Rain Harvesting Systems are a great addition to your gutter system. Why get rid of the rain water when you can use it? Rain Harvesting offers a free solution to watering your garden and lawn.  If your are looking to go green, this is one of the ultimate solutions.  Check out these facts:  A typical 1/2" rainfall can easily fill a 55 gallon rain barrel.  A house with a 2' over hang can easliy collect 408 gallons of water during a 1/2" rain.  Estimate the square footage of your roof and divide it by 2, your roof has the potential to collect that many gallons of water during a 1" rainfall.  A half a gallon per square foot adds up fast.  A person could easily maintain a large lawn and garden for free with the right number of rain barrels.  Harvesting rain water is also a great solution to watering plants with chemical free all natural water.  Perfect for the organic grower!  Using a rain harvesting system is also a great way to reduce the consumption of public water sources.

Our rain harvesting tanks come in a variety of sizes, shapes, and colors. Most of these barrels are recycled food industry containers. They are made of high quality commercial plastic. Other barrels are made of collapsable materials, different metals, and even terra cotta pots.  A garden hose can be attached to the collection barrel or you can even hook your harvesting container up to your drip system!  If your not looking for a large collection container, we also offer collection basins. These are made of copper or aluminum and work great for small areas like flower gardens.

Rain Chains can be used as a stylish alternative to a classic downspout.  We sell a variety of designs ranging from classic chain links to a variety of themed cups.  They are available in copper and silver aluminum.
Gutter Guards are designed to keep maintenance down and protect your home.  It is much easier to clean off the top of a screen than it is to clean out a gutter.  Gutter guards come in a variety of quality grades, ranging from good, better, and best.  Either 5" or 6" fittings are available. Pacific Gutter company is a licensed dealer for Rhino Gutter Guards and they are our preferred product.

Gutter Guards are one of the most functional products we offer.  Gutter guards keep animals, leaves and pine needles out of you gutter.  Leaves and other types of foliage in your gutters lead to a problem called mulching.  Mulching occurs  when foliage sits in a space and starts to deteriorate.  This can become a breeding ground for germs and bacteria that can create unsavory odors and endanger the integrity  of your aluminum gutters.  If water sits in your gutters it can create a breeding ground for mosquitoes!  The mesh of Rhino Best is small enough to keep pine needles out.  Gutter guards also work as a great filter for your rain harvesting system.  Keep the flakes from your asphalt shingles, leaves, and other debris out of your gutters and your harvested rain water!

If you do have open gutters, let us do the cleaning for you!
We offer regular Gutter Cleaning and would love to do it for you.

We also provide the installation of custom FlashingFlashing can be referred to as drip edge, valley flashing, step flashing and edge flashing.  Flashing protects exposed areas that can be affected by water penetration at the edge of the roof or at roof transitions.  It also directs water flow away from fascia and other critical areas.  It helps keep a water tight seal between the gutter and the fascia.  Counter flashing is installed when the drip edge or flashing itself won't fit over the back side of the gutter.  When counter flashing is installed it helps prevent roll back.  Roll back occurs when the seal between the gutter and the drip edge is not airtight.  Water runs back behind the gutter allowing it to leak down the front of a building or drip.  This creates another problem that might not be as obvious.  If water is rolling behind the gutter and making contact with your fascia board, fascia board will swell and rot.  Counter flashing prevents this.  If you are looking for top quality protection and something that looks great, Fascia Covering is an aluminum cover we offer to protect the outer edge of your house.  Wood fascia gets damaged by the baking sun and water.  It can be costly to replace and has to be repainted more often.  When you install aluminum fascia covering you are investing in protecting your wood and paint alike!  Our fascia covering comes with the same paint finish warranty as our gutters - 100 years guaranteed not to chip, crack, flake or, peel.  Fascia is also a great way to keep carpenter bees and ants out of your wood fascia!  If you look at the picture below you will notice the rain gutter on the far right or the 90 degree angle.  The aluminum fascia cover is to the far left of the same 90 degree angle.  Soffit Covering is the solid covering on the bottom side of the eve.  If you have empty space under the eves of your home it makes a perfect place for wasps nests, birds nests, and bats.  If you fill that empty space with Soffit Covering, it not only looks fantastic, but it helps to eliminate the issues nature presents as well!  As you can see here, Gutters, Fascia, and Soffit all look great together.  All three products serve a high functioning purpose and have the ability to tie the exterior of your home together in a fashionable way.  If you get one, you will probably consider them all!
